Una relació amb Déu

Quan una relació està lliure d’egoisme hi ha un sentiment natural d’estar content, d’estar veritablement viu. És així com funciona l’amor autèntic.
L’amor de Déu genera confiança, el cor de la relació. La confiança prové de saber que aquesta relació, aquesta amistat, té permanència. Aquest és un compromís, que requereix cura per tal de mantenir la seva frescor, la seva espontaneïtat i el seu valor.
La relació amb Déu mai implica dependència. No està acolorida amb el sentiment de possessió, exigències o expectatives. Mai ens fa sentir incòmodes si creiem no estar a l’alçada. Déu té fe en el nostre potencial.
Déu ens estima com som; Ell ens estima simplement perquè existim. L’únic requisit és que siguem clars i honests amb Ell. Déu no és algú amb qui regatejar o a qui donar ordres. Ell escolta, comprèn i ajuda sense demanar res a canvi. Això és el que un veritable amic fa i Ell és el nostre millor i més fidel amic.
Ell ens allibera, fent-nos independents.

A relationship with God

When a relationship is free from selfishness there is a natural feeling of being happy, of being truly alive. This is how authentic love works.
God’s love generates trust, the heart of the relationship. Trust comes from knowing that this relationship, this friendship, has permanence. This is a commitment, which requires care in order to maintain its freshness, its spontaneity and its value.
The relationship with God never implies dependence. It is not colored with the feeling of possession, demands or expectations. It never makes us feel uncomfortable if we think we are not up to par. God has faith in our potential.
God loves us as we are; He loves us simply because we exist. The only requirement is that we be clear and honest with Him. God is not someone to bargain with or to whom to give orders. He listens, understands and helps without asking for anything in return. This is what a true friend does and He is our best and most faithful friend.
He frees us, making us independent.
